School Day

The classroom doors open from 8.45am to allow children to come in calmly and be ready for learning. Staff take the register at 8.55am and learning starts promptly.

Year R

In Year R, the children do not tend to follow a strict timetable of lessons during the day, as activities and timings are shaped by their engagement in their learning. However, this is what a typical day may look like:

08:45 – Children may arrive at school. Registration and morning jobs.
09:00 – 09:30 – Adult guided activities and focus jobs
09:30 – 10:00 – Phonics
10:00 - 10:45 – Independent Learning
10:45 – 11:00 – Break (snack time and milk)
11.00 – 12:00 – Independent Learning
12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch
13:00 – 13:10 -Registration
13:10 – 13:40 - Maths
13:40 – 14:30 – Independent Learning
14:30 – 14:50 - Collective Worship
14:50 – 15:15 - Storytime
15:15 – End of the School Day

Key Stages One and Two

A typical day in Key Stage 1 or 2 may look like:

09:30 – 10:30 – English or Maths
10:30 - 10:45 – Break time
10:45 – 11:45 – English or Maths
11.45 – 12:00 – Storytime

13:10 – 15:00 - Learning Time
15:00 – 15:15 - Storytime
15:15 – End of the School Day

Our school week is a total of 32.5 hours. This meets the non-statutory DfE requirements of a miniumum school week of 32.5 hours. 

Collective Worship

We have assemblies (collective worship) each day. We celebrate a range of religions though our collective worship time, as well as reinforcing our British Values, school core values and celebrating our successes.

Our timetable for collective worship is as follows:

Monday - Whole School Assembly to introduce the key theme or topic for the week.

Tuesday - Singing Assembly.

Wednesday - Class Assembly

Thursday - Class Assembly

Friday - Celebration Assembly
